Why WMA needs converting
WMA (Windows Media Audio) was Microsoft’s audio format, common in CD rips made with Windows Media Player. Today, iPhones, Macs, many Android apps and car stereos can’t play WMA. Converting your old collection to MP3 keeps it playable on every device.
Limits to know
WMA files with DRM copy protection, often from old music stores, can’t be converted. Lossy WMA re-encoded to MP3 loses a little quality, though hardly audibly. WMA Lossless files convert fine but become lossy MP3 – keep the originals if you care about archiving.
How to convert
Drop the WMA above, MP3 is preselected, click “Convert” and download. FFmpeg does the conversion in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
