MOV vs. MP4
MOV is Apple’s QuickTime video format, used by iPhones, Macs and many cameras. MP4 is the most widely supported video format: it plays on Windows, Android, smart TVs, game consoles, and is accepted by nearly every website and social platform. Both are containers, often with similar video codecs inside, but MP4 is the far safer choice for sharing.
What to expect
The converted MP4 keeps your video and audio; picture quality stays very close to the original. File size can differ somewhat depending on the encoding. iPhone-specific extras like Cinematic mode depth data are not carried over. Converting long or 4K videos is demanding and can take a while on slower phones or laptops.
How to convert
Drop the MOV above, MP4 is preselected. Click “Convert” and download. FFmpeg runs directly on your device in the browser, so even private videos stay private and there’s no upload wait.
