Why convert AVIF to PNG
AVIF is a very efficient new image format that browsers show without trouble, but many editors, design tools and older systems can’t open it. PNG is lossless, supports transparency and works in every image program, making it ideal when you want to edit a graphic, reuse a logo or keep a cutout image with a transparent background.
Size and color
PNG files are much larger than AVIF, especially for photos – that’s the price of lossless storage. Transparency is preserved. HDR or very wide color content is mapped to a standard PNG, so extremely bright highlights may look a bit different. For photos you just want to share, JPG gives smaller files.
How it works
Choose or drop the AVIF file above, PNG is preselected. Click “Convert” and download the PNG. ImageMagick runs locally in your browser, with no upload.
